Cullerton Group is seeking an experienced Machinist IV – CNC / 5-Axis Machining to support precision machining operations for a manufacturer in Midland, Texas. This position involves setting up and operating advanced CNC machining equipment, including a 5-axis Nomura machining center, producing high-quality precision components, troubleshooting machining issues, and mentoring other machinists.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 5-axis CNC machines, horizontal machining centers, and conventional machining equipment.
• Operate a Nomura HBA-135P-R5 CNC machining center.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and machining specifications.
• Select cutting tools, fixtures, workholding devices, and machining parameters.
• Read, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs, including G-code and M-code.
• Perform machine setups, trial runs, and dimensional inspections.
• Troubleshoot machining problems, tooling issues, and equipment malfunctions.
• Inspect finished components to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Train, mentor, and support other machinists.
• Perform preventive maintenance and follow established safety procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience setting up and operating 5-axis CNC machines.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, fixtures, and machine setups.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and machining specifications.
• Experience with CNC program adjustments and precision machining.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Midland, TX.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC machining experience.
• Experience with Nomura horizontal boring or machining centers.
• Experience with Fanuc, Mazatrol, or Okuma OSP controls.
• Experience with G-code/M-code programming.
• Journeyman Machinist or equivalent trade certification.
• Experience training or mentoring machinists.

Compensation and Schedule

• Base Pay: $40.90/hour
• Overtime Pay: $61.35/hour
• Scheduled Hours: 50 working hours per week
• Additional Overtime: Available
• Potential Annual Gross Earnings: Approximately $138,242, assuming 50 paid hours weekly for 52 weeks
• Relocation Assistance: May be available
